GreenSigns’ business is based in Chicago with a focus here and in its neighboring suburbs. Most of the trends and news we share is based on happenings near us and in other major cities across the United States.
But sustainable advertising is a global trend with leaders we can all learn from.
The United Kingdom remains a leader in the space where DOOH spending is expected to reach $1.18 billion this year. The UK is also a participant in Ad Net Zero’s initiatives in this space, alongside Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and Turkey among other territories.
An emerging participant in the sustainable advertising space is India where Zest Outdoor Media in Mumbai hit a world record for the largest solar-powered billboard in 2023. The company used 84 solar panels for the billboard which in turn generates clean energy for Indian Railways. The billboard was originally sponsored by Hyundai Motor India.
At the upcoming World Out of Home Organization’s annual Global Congress, two speakers will present on the topic of sustainable advertising. The event, hosted in Mexico City, will feature a discussion on the environmental impacts of media and some of the latest EU regulations in the space.
The two women leading the discussion are experts in sustainable advertising and spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing carbon footprints.
In short, GreenSigns is a small but proud part of the sustainable advertising landscape, which continues to evolve.
